Job Description:

The General Maintenance Technician (GM Tech) will perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and

maintenance. Assists and performs with installation, maintenance, and repair work in the basic building

maintenance trades, such as HVAC, carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, generation and

mechanics. The GM Tech will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and

ensure facilities are functional. May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment

and utility systems. Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc. Check control

panels and electrical wiring to identify issues. Experience using hand and electrical tools, the ability to read

technical manuals and drawings. Very good communication and interpersonal skills. Will perform minor and

major repair of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed

maintenance workers.) Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a

scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or

replaces broken parts. Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance

procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures to include MSDS sheets. Responds to

emergency maintenance requests as required. May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as

needed. Move furniture and equipment upon instruction. Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs

other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required. May perform weekly

safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to

eliminate all hazards. Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs Inspect and troubleshoot

equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation) Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm) Collaborate with

workers and other professionals during renovations. Further General Maintenance Technician requirement are:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be

met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties

of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with

hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear, which may include

climbing ladders and staircases. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed

to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift

and/or move more than 100 pounds. Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related

motorized equipment. Mush have the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours

and weekend assignments.

UNIFORMS: The contractor shall require all employees, including supervisors, to wear distinctive uniform

clothing with the contractor's name for ready identification. At all times during contract performance contractor

personnel shall wear a shirt or vest with the company logo and name. Every employee is to be in uniform no later

than ten working days from the date an employee first enters on duty. Uniforms must be cleaned and well

maintained. Employees must be neatly groomed and presentable.

APPEARANCE OF PERSONNEL: The Contractor shall ensure that contract personnel present a neat and

professional appearance at all times. Contractor's personnel shall remain fully clothed at all times while performing

under this contract. This includes shirts with sleeves (short or long), long pants, and shoes. Offensive pictures,

sayings, tank tops, tee shirts and spandex or similar fabric worn as outerwear are strictly prohibited.

SECURITY: Must have an active TS/SCI or the have the ability to obtain.


* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Two-year experience as a semi-skilled worker in one or more of the basic building maintenance trades. * A valid Driver's License. * Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.
